A SLEEPING OBJECT
Thesis project
This piece of furniture is the result of an explorative project trying to translate the state of sleeping to a physical form. The inspiration came from somnambulism, the state where someone who sleeps do things they normally do when awake. The focus has been on three-dimensional sketching in hard and soft materials, which have been used as inspiration for the two-dimensional sketches. The framework for this piece of furniture represents the waking state and the textiles represent the unrestrained sleep.
